Fares Habb is an award-winning pianist, film composer, producer, and music educator based in New York City.
His works as a composer include the original score for To Brooklyn And Back, which received an official Kodak feature. Hora Azul (2024), winning the Grand Jury Award for Best Experimental Film at the NY International Film Awards, Best Experimental Film and Best Artist Film at Cine Paris Film Festival, and receiving selections from Berlin Indie Film Festival, Vienna International Film Awards, Girona Film Festival, Dumbo Film Festival, LA Lift-Off Global Network Film Festival, Student World Impact Film Festival, and Soho International Film Festival— which screened Hora Azul at its premiere at the Village East by Angelika in Manhattan. Ketchup & Watermelon (2025), earning selections from DisOrient Film Festival, AANM’s Arab Film Festival, Roxbury International Film Festival, HAAPIFest, and the Muslim Film Festival. Fares has also scored campaigns for Beats by Dre, Apple, Seniq and more.
Fares earned his Bachelor and Master in Piano Performance at NYU Steinhardt, minoring in Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. Throughout his graduate studies, he worked as an Adjunct Faculty in the Piano Studies department. Before graduating in 2024, he was honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award in Piano Performance.
He has performed in the likes of Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, winning first prize in the Forte International Competition, International Music and Arts Society Competition, and Concert Festival Piano Competition. Since 2010, his performance career has included appearances across Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Puerto Rico and the U.S.
In 2025, Fares joined Lounge Studios, where he worked alongside grammy-winning engineer Mikaelin Bluespruce. There, he set up sessions for Solange, Ron Carter, Kota the Friend, and more. His piano work has been featured at Lounge Studios, Flux Studios, Douglass Recording Studio, The Music Building, NYU’s Clive Davis Institute, and Indigo Soul NYC — where he recently recorded piano for upcoming feature documentary Kono.
He regularly performs in New York City, accompanying comedians such as Andrew Schulz, Mark Normand, Kam Patterson and many more. He was recently hosted by Universal Music Group to perform a showcase at Republic Records alongside singer-songwriter Jamie Miller.
