Born in Milan, Italy, Fares Habb is an award-winning pianist, film composer, producer, and music educator based in New York City.

His work as a composer includes the original score for Hora Azul (2024), a short film that won the Grand Jury Award for Best Experimental Film at the NY International Film Awards, along with Best Experimental Film and Best Artist Film at Cine Paris Film Festival. Hora Azul was also officially selected by a range of international festivals, including the Berlin Indie Film Festival, Vienna International Film Awards, Girona Film Festival, Dumbo Film Festival, LA Lift-Off Global Network Film Festival, Student World Impact Film Festival, and Soho International Film Festival— which hosted its official premiere at the Village East by Angelika in Manhattan.

In 2024 he composed the original soundtrack for Ketchup & Watermelon (2025), earning selections from DisOrient Film Festival, AANM’s Arab Film Festival, Roxbury International Film Festival, HAAPIFest, and the Muslim Film Festival.

Fares earned his Bachelor and Master of Music in Piano Performance at NYU Steinhardt, where he minored in Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. Throughout his graduate studies, he worked as an Adjunct Faculty in the Piano Studies department. Before graduating in 2024, he was honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award in Piano Performance.

Fares has performed in the likes of Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, winning first prizes in the Forte International Competition, International Music and Arts Society Competition, and Concert Festival Piano Competition. Since 2010, his career has included appearances across Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Puerto Rico and the U.S.

In 2025, Fares joined Lounge Studios, where he worked alongside grammy-winning engineer Mikaelin Bluespruce. There, he set up sessions for Solange, Ron Carter, Kota the Friend, and more… His piano work has been featured at Lounge Studios, Flux Studios, Indigo Soul NYC, and NYU’s Clive Davis Institute.

In addition to classical and studio work, Fares regularly performs at comedy shows across New York City, accompanying comedians such as Andrew Schulz, Mark Normand, Sam Jay, Joey Avery, Mark Gagnon, and many more.

Most recently, he played a showcase at Republic Records with singer/songwriter Jamie Miller, hosted by Universal Music Group in NYC.
